Congresswoman Elise Stefanik BLASTS Reporter For Sexist Comments

A reporter and anchor with CBS3 in Burlington, Vermont, Darren Perron, owes Congresswoman Elise Stefanik an apology.  The 37-year-old Congresswoman is expecting her first child this fall. Mr. Perron and another male colleague used valuable air-time to discuss Congresswoman Stefanik’s pregnancy and asked, in terms of leadership, will her absence on Capitol Hill hurt her role as a Congresswoman.

Yes, two males who call themselves “journalists” opined on how the third most powerful woman in the Conservative elected office would allow pregnancy and maternity leave to “impact her role in representing New York’s 21st District”.  Congresswoman Stefanik took to Twitter to chastise the men for their comments.

She’s not wrong! This is an outrage! Why is the advocacy media using motherhood as a hindrance only when it’s convenient? They advocate for males in female sports. They say men can menstruate, lactate, conceive and deliver children.

By this logic, men and women are interchangeable. There are no differences. Anyone can have children, so why is her pregnancy so special?

This is unique because she is an influential voice who holds a powerful position within the conservative movement. This TV segment was nothing more than a cheap shot. Through her pregnancy, labor, delivery, and motherhood, the Congresswoman will not skip a beat but will be enriched by the greatness that is the unconditional love of parenthood.

“Turning Point USA’s commitment to the fight for freedom on campus is more important now than ever.”

- Senator Marco Rubio, Florida
