America Needs To Turn Its Focus From Russia and Ukraine To Our Own Southern Border
Another year, another foreign affairs issue. I’ve served and I understand the importance of protecting our country, but as much time that is spent protecting our country and others from the exterior, you’d think we’d start to focus on the interior too. From crippling infrastructure, homelessness, drugs, etc., America is rotting from within, and something needs to be done about it.
The focus has been put on Russia and Ukraine, and while this is an issue to pay attention to, I find it odd that mainstream media is putting more attention to the issues at the Ukrainian border than our own southern border. How is it that we have people invading our country at this very moment in time, but hardly any media is focusing on it?
The same thing goes for coronavirus. We all know the sheer number of companies that have made and are currently making money from this pandemic. Forcing children to wear masks for their protection is a must…but let’s not mention how more kids have died in Chicago from gang violence than from COVID since March of 2020. What if they put the same amount of attention on these issues as COVID? What would be done? How fast would people move to make a change from within?
As much as I dislike the mainstream media, we have to acknowledge the power they have in effectively brainwashing half the country to suddenly care about issues the media wants them to care about. They’re the real enemy of the people…the enemy of the United States. If mass media took the time to actually focus on issues at home, I wonder how fast things would change?
