What Should We Say To Woke Socialist Thanksgiving Guests?

There’s plenty we could say, for SURE. But my few suggestions for every patriot stuck in an inevitable dinner debate with an “it will be different this time!” socialist are:

  1. Nordic Europe is capitalist with private business and industry. They have high taxes and extensive welfare programs, but they are still capitalist. This is a social democracy.
  2. The Democratic Socialists in America claim their policies will make us like Nordic Europe. But if you read their website, it clearly states they intend to end private business in exchange for “community-owned” or “collectively owned” business. This is not what Nordic Europe has; it’s what Venezuela has. It’s real socialism: When the government owns and controls business “in the name of the people.” Make sure the young people in your life understand the difference between Nordic Europe’s capitalist social democracy and Venezuela’s socialist economy.
  3. If you want progress, capitalism combined with classical liberalism is your best bet. This system makes sure the power is spread healthily throughout the PEOPLE, not solely in a few corrupt socialist elites’ hands. Capitalism gives power to the people. Socialism provides power to the system, and it’s greedy politicians. Capitalism guarantees freedom, justice, and empowerment for all people of all backgrounds.

I’m not a fan of family political arguments, but sometimes radical lefties bring it up, and it’s essential to bring the facts to the table when they do. What are the key points you guys suggest bringing up at the table if the debate begins?

“I would have done anything to have Turning Point USA when I was your age, so it really is a true honor to be here today.”
