Turning Point USA

Following a recent stop in Boise, Idaho as part of our TPUSA ‘Exposing Critical Racism Tour,’ I spent the morning “trending” on Twitter for an answer I gave to an audience question on political violence.

If you watch the exchange, it’s glaringly obvious that my immediate and instinctual response was to denounce the questioner’s call for violence.

That should have been the end of the whole affair. But given the media’s obsessive, compulsive desire to fan outrage wherever they can and paint all Conservatives as “THREATS TO DEMOCRACY,” it became a booming political “trend” on Twitter with over 30,000 tweets on the matter.

Whatever, I thought—to rational, thinking people, Twitter isn’t real life, and I moved on and started to prepare for the next tour stop in Eugene, Oregon.

It wasn’t until I was told by our Field Team at Turning Point USA that radical ANTIFA activists with nothing better to do, spent their morning using threats of violence against hotel staff to pressure our venue in Eugene to cancel the event tonight.

We had this to say in an article published by The Post Millennial:

The irony is that as Charlie Kirk trends on Twitter for denouncing political violence, ANTIFA has been threatening violence against event staff at venues that attempt to host TPUSA’s campus tour stops. 5 different venues have now cancelled as a result of ANTIFA’s coordinated campaign of violent harassment, including the most recent cancellation on the day of the event in Eugene, Oregon. So while [The Left] attempts to criminalize mainstream Conservative ideas and personalities who denounce violence, they empower actual violent extremists in their midst by failing to renounce groups like ANTIFA. The double standard is shameful and it’s tearing the country apart.

But at Turning Point USA, we don’t let violent, unimpressive, and deeply disturbed basement-dwelling ANTIFA losers win.
We have a new venue tonight. We won’t be intimidated.
