The Woke Left Has WAY Too Much Control Over America’s Corporations
No matter where you look, it seems like a previously apolitical corporate entity is sucking up to the Twitter Woke Mob by taking the “correct” stance on some of the more controversial issues of the moment. Look over there! It’s the Oreo Cookies account writing that “trans people exist” on Twitter. Um, guys, I just wanted a cookie!
And how about down in Georgia, where Delta and Coca-Cola CEOs have come out forcefully against a just-passed law intended to protect election integrity. The Left has set the narrative that voter fraud is a myth and election integrity is somehow “racist,” and America’s spineless corporations have followed suit.
This is dangerous, as Cancel Culture isn’t just about spoiled and wealthy Hollywood celebrities being fired from their cushy TV jobs for wrongthink; now it’s about applying pressure on corporations to bend to the will of the Woke Mob…or else. But…or else what?
How about the fact that Hollywood celebrities are openly talking about not working in Georgia and that the MLB has just gone on the record as “discussing options” for their 2021 All-Star game, scheduled for mid-July in Atlanta. Of course, what is actually in this new voting law isn’t even up for debate. The die has been cast. The narrative has been set. If you’re in any way supportive of this law, you’re racist! It’s a “relic of the Jim Crow era,” all the coordinated leftwing talking heads have said to their corporate masters on cable tv. Well, if Joy Reid says it…it must be true!
What is true and scary is that the Left is now not content with their complete control over the entertainment and journalism and media industries…they want to exert domination over corporations as well! The most insidious thing about what the Left is proposing is that it will not stop with Georgia. The Cancel Culture brigade is now moving on to canceling jobs and economic opportunities for the states that dare stand up to them.
Think for just a moment about small businesses’ income for an event like the MLB All-Star game brings to Atlanta. Not content with the job-killing, soul-crushing COVID-related lockdowns, the Left wants to exert even more political and economic muscle to send the message that they’re ready and willing to crush the economic potential of states that refuse to play by their rules.
It’s now up to the corporations in these states to stand up to them.
