The American Flag is NOT Disturbing
MSNBC’s Mara Gay said it’s ‘Disturbing’ to see ‘dozens of American flags’ on trucks in Long Island. Gay said that Donald Trump supporters flew the flag to say that “this is my country … not your country.” She also tweeted, “I see I’m being trolled with the American flag this morning. Trolling a Black journalist with the American flag is not the own some people think it is.” Later that day, the New York Times Communications team tweeted, “New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay’s comments on MSNBC have been irresponsibly taken out of context…”
I am here to tell you on National Flag Day that our American Flag is not disturbing! Patriotism is never disturbing! Our flag is beautiful and will continue to fly elegantly and proudly every single day for ALL Americans.
