Soldiers Don’t Have a Choice Over Mandated Military Vaccines

The United States has mandated that all members of the military will need to take the Covid-19 vaccine. Now, I’ve been very transparent with my position on the vaccine. If you want the vaccine, take the vaccine. If you don’t want the vaccine, don’t take the vaccine. I do not think that this vaccine should be mandated at all.

The sad truth is that when you sign up to join the United States military and take the oath to defend the United States, you are the property of the United States government. It pains me to say that this is coming from someone who served and was the property of the United States government for over five years of my life.

I do not stand with this mandate at all, however, this is the unfortunate truth of where we are in terms of this vaccine and virus. I’m getting messages from soldiers all over the place asking if there’s anything they can do…and sadly, I don’t think so. When you sign that oath, you’re just as much property of the United States as the guns and tanks. This is the reality of serving for the United States.

Again, I think that all of these mandates are authoritarian and should not be enacted. It’s clear this military has been very partisan under the current president and has been used in many ways to push this administration’s agenda. It’s not right, it shouldn’t be accepted, but as far as the military is concerned, there’s not much we can do about it.
