Morgan Stanley’s CEO: Be Back In The Office Or Else
Morgan Stanley’s CEO, James Gorman said earlier this week that “it’s time for the bank’s New York workers to head back to the office now that more people are getting vaccinated for Covid-19 and life is slowly returning to normal.” Gorman goes onto say that if New Yorkers can go out to a restaurant, they can come back to work.
Once summer is over, Gorman wants all his employees to get off Zoom, get onto the subway and into the office. Gorman said, “If you want to get paid New York rates, you work in New York,” Gorman also notes, “None of this ‘I’m in Colorado…and getting paid like I’m sitting in New York City.’ Sorry. That doesn’t work.”
One headline reads, “Morgan Stanley CEO to NYC workers: Be back in the office by September or else!” Morgan Stanley’s CEO is both threatening people and giving employees ultimatums.
Factually speaking, New York City is a place that is now laden with skyrocketing crime, high taxes, strict regulations, and preposterous woke ideology. Recent census data shows us that people have left in droves, so it is not surprising that employees do not want to live in or commute to NYC. However, New York City and the woke people who encompass it did this to themselves. They made NYC a place few people want to live and work.
I wouldn’t be surprised if workplaces like this in New York City raise their salaries to incentivize people to come back to work in the office and live in their urban hell hole.
