LOL: The NYT Is Hiring An Editor With “A Sense of Humor And Spine Of Steel”

Yeah, freaking right.

The New York Times posted on their website that they’re looking for an editor with a “sense of humor and a spine of steel, a confident point of view and an open mind, an appetite for risk and exacting standards for excellence in writing and visual presentation. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow big ideas to make the world a better place, and to have fun doing it.”

They can’t possibly be serious. Is this satire? Is it a joke to fill a fake, satirical position? Is this a Babylon Bee article?

The listing also says that their opinion team “aims to promote the most important and provocative debate across a range of subjects – including politics, global affairs, technology, culture, and business – and is passionate about including a vast array of diverse voices and perspectives.”

Would someone like to remind the New York Times that one of their previous editors, Bari Weiss, resigned after several years because of how toxically woke their workplace was? She felt like she could never express an opinion that deviated from the extreme, far left.

This same outlet also walked back letting Senator Tom Cotton publish an opinion piece with them. After a few angry Twitter followers raised hell, NYT decided to drop their initial defense of allowing him to write an op-ed, and instead said that his piece “didn’t meet their editorial standards.”

Maybe they should add a disclaimer to their job posting and say that whoever they hire will likely be fired the moment they exhibit any of the previously mentioned attributes.

“Turning Point USA is the largest, most impressive, and fastest youth movement in the country.”
