First, they were mad because he tried to make a lighthearted joke about voting for his movie “Onward” in the 2020 People’s Choice Awards. Now they’re mad because a few Zoomers on Twitter just now found out he goes to Hillsong church, which they claim means he’s “anti-LGTQ.” Even though he’s already been over this a year ago and said, “It has recently been suggested that I belong to a church which ‘hates people’ and is ‘infamously anti-LGBTQ.’ Nothing could be further from the truth. I go to a church that opens their doors to absolutely everyone,” said Pratt.
“Despite what the Bible says about divorce, my church community was there for me every step of the way, never judging, just gracefully accompanying me on my walk. They helped me tremendously, offering love and support. It is what I have seen them do for others on countless occasions regardless of sexual orientation, race, or gender.”
Recently a tweet went viral from TV writer Amy Berg that featured a picture of all the Hollywood “Chrises”: Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine, and Chris Evans, and she wrote, “One has to go.”
In an almost unanimous vote, SJW Twitter deemed Pratt the one that “had to go” and defended their choice because of assumptions he’s anti-gay and conservative. Celebs like Robert Downey Jr., Zoe Saldana, and Mark Ruffalo came to his defense, calling him a “solid man” and that they “know his heart and worth.”
Pratt has famously been very mysterious about his political leanings, and of course, married Katherine Schwarzenegger, who’s a devout liberal. One has to wonder if Pratt came out firmly as a conservative, would these same leftist celebrities still defend him by saying they “know his heart”?
