According to government spending records, the U.S. State Department bankrolled a massive training network for “LGBTQI+ Allies” that aimed to promote “a better understanding of diversity and inclusion.”

Washington State University (WSU) received a $15,000 grant in 2023 for a three-day “train-the-trainer” program which would equip 30 participants in the program to later train another 2,500 individuals in becoming an “LGBTQI+ ally.” The workshop, which took place from September 25-27, 2023 in India, included more than 12 hours on subjects like “LGBTQ+ ally training,” “Defining LGBTQ+ language, LGBTQ+ history,” “How to support individuals who come out,” “Responding to triggers,” and more.

WSU said that the workshop’s goal would be to increase “the comfort levels of all participants regarding issues faced by members of the LGBTQI+ community and work toward a more equitable company, university, and society for all.”

“Thirty participants engaged in conversations about how to better understand and promote diversity, inclusion, and human rights, and how to become stronger LGBTQI+ allies,” the university’s website states. “In turn, participants became master trainers to teach another 2,500 people in their home states on the topic.”

The State Department funded the workshop under a program intended to “advance national interests” and “national security by informing and influencing foreign publics and by expanding and strengthening the relationship between the people and government of the United States and citizens of the rest of the world.”

When asked about the WSU training program, a spokesperson for the State Department told the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) that “LGBTQI+ persons across the globe deserve to live in societies free from targeted violence and discrimination.”

“As all G7 leaders reiterated this year in Hiroshima, we work with all segments of society to ensure full, equal, and meaningful participation of LGBTQI+ persons in politics, economics, education, and all other spheres of society,” the spokesperson added.

The DCNF noted that the State Department has rewarded organizations pushing LGBTQ+ messaging in the past, including grants to support “‘queer’ Muslim writers in India, providing classes for transgender ‘makeup entrepreneurs’ in Nepal and funding a LGBTQ+ film festival in Portugal that featured pedophilic and incestuous content.”

Similarly, the Department of Defense, along with other departments in the federal government, has adopted the view that diversity is a “strategic” and “national security imperative,” and therefore, the State Department has allocated millions in taxpayer funds to export U.S. “national interests” and culture globally.

“[Turning Point USA] is where we get to recharge our batteries and fight for the future of America.”
