In a series of military academy board changes, President Donald Trump appointed TPUSA Founder and CEO Charlie Kirk to the United States Air Force Academy Board of Visitors. On Monday, President Trump appointed Doug Nikolai, Dan Clark, Tommy Tuberville, and Dina Powell, along with Kirk.

In a post on X, Kirk responded to the President’s Truth Social post in which he expressed gratitude for his appointment to the board:

The US Air Force Academy is located in Air Force Academy, Colorado. According to the Academy’s website, the Board of Visitors is appointed by both the President and Congress:

“The Board consists of six members appointed by the President, two designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, one designated by the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, one each designated by the Chair and Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, two designated by the Majority Leader of the Senate, two designated by the Minority Leader of the Senate, and one each designated by the Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.”

The Board’s mission is to oversee the fitness of the Academy’s academic and fiscal standards:

“The U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors… inquires into the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods and other matters relating to the Academy which the Board decides to consider.”

President Trump also appointed a new Board of Visitors for both the West Point Military Academy and the US Naval Academy. He will also do the same with the Coast Guard Academy. Removing prior boards and replacing them is his current approach to combatting wokeness in US military academies. The President stated in February on Truth Social

“Our Service Academies have been infiltrated by Woke Leftist Ideologues over the last four years. I have ordered the immediate dismissal of the Board of Visitors for the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard.”

Charlie Kirk will continue operating as a full-time CEO of TPUSA while performing duties for the Air Force Academy Board of Visitors.
