Senator Elizabeth Warren Calls for Crisis Pregnancy Centers to be Shut Down
When asked about crisis pregnancy centers, Senator Elizabeth Warren said, “Crisis pregnancy centers that are there to fool people looking for pregnancy termination help, outnumber abortion clinics by 3 to 1.”
“You should not be able to torture a pregnant person like that,” Senator Warren concluded.
Crisis pregnancy centers, also known as pregnancy resource centers, are located all over the country and offer a plethora of free services to women who are in need of prenatal care. Services include ultrasounds, adoption information and assistance, therapy and guidance, prenatal vitamins, supplying the mother with diapers, wipes and other sanitary products, and so much more. These centers exist purely to help women who have fallen on difficult times, and to provide healthy and safe alternatives to abortion.
These centers have also been under attack across the country for months, since the Supreme Court draft decision for Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health was leaked to the public.
Nation-wide, there has been a campaign to change the narrative regarding pregnancy resource centers. People who claim to be pro-choice don’t want women in dire situations to have any other alternative to abortion. If they did, these centers wouldn’t be such a threat to their tainted worldview.
Supreme Court Justices wouldn’t be met with violent protesters at their every destination if the people propagating this perspective were in fact pro-choice, if they wanted states to have the choice, if they wanted women to have a choice.
The liberal narrative has shifted. It is no longer pro-choice, it is now, but probably always has been, pro-abortion.
The abortion advocacy group Janes Revenge has taken credit for many of the attacks, but unfortunately their actions have encouraged individuals around the country to harass pregnancy centers and their employees/volunteers.
Pro-life pregnancy centers do the work that abortion advocates never will, and that is why they are targeted. It is not because they “torture” pregnant women, it is because they provide options and alternatives to abortion, which in their opinion is somehow not “empowering.”
We understand their reasoning, and yet they never seem to fully understand ours. That is why, with persistence, we will continue to make massive triumphs for the rights of the unborn.
