Police Arrest Two Protestors For Vandalism Following TPUSA Event At UC Davis

Last Month, Antifa protestors broke through windows at Charlie Kirk’s speaking event at UC Davis.

Two people have been arrested after rioters vandalized the University of California’s Davis campus to protest Turning Point USA’s event with Charlie Kirk.

TPUSA’s CEO and Founder Charlie Kirk spoke with students at UC Davis on March 14, while Antifa protestors intimidated event attendees, graffitied the building, clashed with officers, and vandalized the building, causing significant damage.

Two arrests were made for threatening a police officer, conspiracy to commit vandalism, vandalism, and resisting arrest according to a press release by UC Davis. The university claimed that the two individuals who were arrested are not affiliated with the school.

Before the event, as attendees lined up at the main entrance, protestors began intimidating and harassing them, screaming in their faces and waving signs with slogans like, “queers bash back,” and “protect trans kids.” Some protestors even threw eggs at event attendees and used pepper spray to prevent them from entering the building.

Though protestors smashed through the door windows, likely causing hundreds in damages to the university, “no arrests were made related to the breaking of the glass” according to the California Aggie. “However, two people were arrested and charged with vandalism in relation to graffiti of the Trans Pride flag on the wall of the U Center,” the outlet wrote.

Dozens participated in the aggression, intimidation, and vandalism caught on video, though police were only able to hold two individuals accountable for their actions.

In the immediate aftermath of the event, UC Davis said the event “occurred with minor incidents,” and proceeded by explaining that one officer sustained injuries after being attacked by a protestor. The university regrettably admitted that they have to uphold individuals’ First Amendment right to free speech, “even when that speech may be hateful, offensive or abusive.”

Over the span of one week, three Turning Point USA-sponsored events were attacked by progressive mobs, as college campuses become an increasingly hostile environment for conservatives to speak freely.

“[Turning Point USA] is where we get to recharge our batteries and fight for the future of America.”
