So many unanswered questions after reading about this!

Back in December, a plumber in the Houston area was doing work on Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church when he came across about 500 envelopes full of money stuck away in the walls of the church. It’s still not confirmed how much money was recovered.

The recovered money is tied to a 2014 robbery that happened at Lakewood Church when $200,000 in cash and $400,000 in checks were stolen from the safe at the church.

Back in 2014, Crime Stoppers of Houston posted an award of $5,000 for information relating to the case. At the time, Lakewood Church also put up a reward of $20,000 which they ended up donating to the Crime Stoppers in 2016.

The plumber who was identified as Justin will now be receiving the $20,000 award according to the Crime Stoppers organization.

Crime Stoppers CEO Rania Mankarious said, according to a press release from the group, “Crime Stoppers of Houston is a public safety organization that thrives on the public safety of all communities. We believe that it takes all of us, working together, to keep Houston safe and thriving. In 2014, Lakewood Church gave us $20,000 to work on this case. In 2016, they chose to gift us those funds for operations. Today, we are gifting that same about of money to this Good Samaritan and wishing he and his family a wonderful holiday season.”

Justin made the discovery as he was working on the bathrooms at the megachurch.

In an interview, Justin stated that he was ‘upset’ because he had not heard from the church since the findings.

Lakewood Church’s publicist told Fox News that the plumber was invited back to the church to meet Joel Osteen saying that “Joel would love to meet him.”

What in the world is going on here?! To me, it kind of sounds like the 2014 robbery was an “inside job.” Who is going to rob a place just to put the money in the walls of the church? Something isn’t adding up here!!
