Patriots in the 1700s had nothing. They had no support for their country. They had no support from their government. And in some severe cases, they lost the support of their friends and family.

Why? Why would they sacrifice EVERYTHING? It’s because they believed in SOMETHING. They believed in freedom. They believed in their rights, your rights, AND my rights. They believed in that idea SO MUCH that they were willing to sacrifice EVERYTHING for it!

That takes an entirely different kind of DNA than what many Americans have today. These days if you say something and believe in it, the culture will CANCEL you and make you walk it back.

The OG patriots of our country would scoff at that kind of weakness. They believed in standing up for something, even if it means losing everything.

We need to learn from that. We need to learn from their strengths so that when the time comes round in today’s world, we know how to combat it. How to truly be courageous and stand up for things that we believe in.
