New York City Hands out Fliers to Illegal Immigrants Asking Them to Move Somewhere Else

New York City Mayor Eric Adams' office is handing out fliers to illegal immigrants asking them to relocate somewhere else.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ office is handing out fliers to illegal immigrants asking them to relocate somewhere else.

According to the mayor’s office, New York City will be issuing fliers to immigrants that enter the country illegally that outline reasons they should settle elsewhere in the country. The flier cites the flood of migrants who have arrived in the city, the expensive cost of living, and the fact that the city cannot guarantee adequate shelter and services for new arrivals.

On Thursday, Mayor Adams stated in a press conference that New York City has “reached full capacity.” Mayor Adams claimed that New Yorkers “have no more room in this city,” and that they “need help.”

According to the official website of the City of New York, the city has brought in over 90,000 asylum seekers since last spring, and an average of 300-500 people are still arriving each day. Since Adams took office, the number of illegal immigrants being housed in New York City shelters has increased by more than 100%.

With more than 54,800 asylum seekers still currently in our care, this effort will intensify adult asylum seekers’ casework services over the next two months to help them take the next step on their journey and ensure we have a bed to place children and families at night. For more than a year now, New York City has responded to this crisis alone — we need our state and federal partners to step up.”

Over the last year, New York City has been forced to take extensive measures in order to accommodate the overwhelming number of illegal immigrants in the city. The state of New York recently forced almost two dozen homeless veterans out of upstate New York hotels in order to house illegal migrants. Mayor Adams has also proposed housing asylum seekers in school gymnasiums.
