National Education Association Suggests Replacing “Mother” with “Birthing Person”
Another word falls on the sword of “inclusivity.” The National Education Association (N.E.A.) has requested changing the word “mother” to “birthing person” in all contracts, to be mindful of people who identify as LGBTQ+, as first reported by Fox News. The N.E.A. represents the values and will of the teachers’ union.
In an interview with Fox News Digital regarding the proposal, Tiffany Justice, founder of Moms for Liberty, said, “I think it just further underscores how completely out of touch the teachers’ unions… are from the concerns of normal parents.”
I suppose it totally evaded their small minds to consider adoptive parents who did not give birth to the children they now love and raise.
Thankfully, the N.E.A. eventually did not have enough support to bring this proposal to a vote, but the fact that it was even proposed is just beyond me.
Orwellian’s “newspeak” was intended to be fictional, not a roadmap for radicals. But I guess when you live in a dystopian leftist bubble, fiction blends with reality.
