Florida will soon become the first state in the US to remove vaccine mandates statewide according to a Wednesday announcement made by Florida Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo and Governor Ron DeSantis. This includes every vaccine, and applies to schoolchildren as well.
“Your body is a gift from God,” stated Ladapo during a press conference. “What you put into your body is because of your relationship with your body and your God.”
“Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery,” Ladapo said of the principle behind vaccine mandates. “It’s wrong, it’s immoral. They do not have the right to tell you what you put in your body. They don’t have the right to tell you what your kids have to put in [their] body. They do not have the right. Do not give it to them. Take it away from them. And we’re going to be starting that here in Florida.”
Ladapo further stated that neither he nor any government has the right to mandate what parents should put into their children’s bodies, finding the notion preposterous.
This is not the first time that Florida, a state whose present government is aligned with the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, has made a monumental state health decision that goes against the grain of mainstream medicine. In May, the state banned fluoride from its water systems, becoming the second state after Utah to do so.
Additionally, in the same month, Florida’s Department of Health removed the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine from its schedule of vaccines. Ladapo said at the time that the decision “is an important advancement for parents, physicians, and children across the country. Ultimately, scientific evidence dictates that the use of these products should end for all populations.”
