Trump administration border czar Tom Homan said Sunday that there will be “zero tolerance” for anti-immigration enforcement protesters who commit violence against federal officers.

“You throw a stone, you’re going to jail. You put hands on an ICE officer, you’re going to jail. You make a threat – online or in person – you’re going to jail,” Homan said during a Fox News segment.

Homan stressed that while individuals are free to peacefully protest and exercise their First Amendment rights, violent actions will not be tolerated. He added that the administration is working to identify groups or individuals who fund violent demonstrations.

“There’s a whole effort right now identifying those who are funding these operations, those who fund the weapons that are being used,” he explained. “And they’ll be held accountable too and held to the highest standards of the law. They will be prosecuted, too.”

Homan also criticized politicians who have compared ICE to fascists and nazis. “If ICE is racist for enforcing the law, what does that make them?” he said, noting that the laws ICE enforces were written by lawmakers.

Since the Trump administration retook office, several anti-ICE protests have turned violent across the country. In Portland, Oregon, protesters have been clashing with federal law enforcement outside an ICE facility, where demonstrators recently rolled out a guillotine in front of the field office. President Trump responded to the unrest by telling reporters inside the Oval Office that the demonstrators are “terrorists” and that he is considering deploying the National Guard to restore order.
