Blues Clues Pushes Pride Month On Kids

June 1st is the official kick-off for Pride Month. According to NationalToday.com, “Pride Month is a time when the LGBTQ+ community comes together to celebrate the acceptance of sexual diversity.”  No one could argue that Pride Month is about sex and sexual orientation, an adult topic.

Several corporations patronized by adults have turned their logo into rainbow colors in honor of Pride Month. That is their choice and their right. However, what is not right is that a children’s television network, Nick Jr., is celebrating Pride Month with its popular kid’s show Blue’s Clues. The Pride episode will include a drag queen sing-along, a Pride Parade, and rhetoric telling children that “love is love.”

Nick Jr. should be condemned, boycotted, and sued for the mental distress of children. Sex is not an appropriate topic for children. When young minors are ready to learn about sex, they should do so from doctors, parents, or trusted educational professionals, not a cartoon on a TV set that lacks any sort of context.

Moreover, young children don’t understand adult love. Forcing them to think about romantic love is troubling and confusing. This could even be seen as a grooming technique. Grooming is when a sexual abuser psychologically prepares a victim with behavioral conditioning before abuse to normalize it.

I’m not saying that gay marriage is wrong. In my opinion, it should just be called marriage because legally it is the same document. Gay marriage has no legal variance from straight marriage. Love is in fact love in the eyes of the law. However, what should be illegal is when motivated adults introduce sex and romance to children via a cartoon.

“I would have done anything to have Turning Point USA when I was your age, so it really is a true honor to be here today.”
