Whether it’s Hunter Biden’s indiscretions or House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband’s DUI, the common refrain is “this is a private matter.”
Why do ONLY liberals get a pass on inappropriate conduct? When conservatives are embroiled in scandal, they are raked over the coals and cast into the outer darkness.
That’s because there are two standards. The higher standard is reserved for conservatives, whereas the lower standard is reserved for the left. It’s not fair, but it exists. Conservatives are condemned by the rules, whereas leftists are allowed to change the rules.
It also hurts everyone. Excusing any bad behavior lowers the bar and makes inappropriate behavior seem acceptable.
Although the mainstream media may excuse bad behavior, we should not. We must raise our children with accountability, regardless of political ideology.
