If Our FREEDOM is PRICELESS, So Are THEY
People forget how much we take our constitutional rights for granted. Some countries would KILL us right now because of where we are from, and some people would KILL for the chance to have the same freedoms.
Our freedoms are priceless. Therefore the people that let us keep them are also invaluable. Every day a soldier fights for me, fights for you, and they battle for AMERICA. But why is it that when they come home, they face another kind of battle?
When servicemembers try to return to a “normal” lifestyle, the repercussions of their sacrifices begin to overwhelm them. That’s why veteran suicide and depression continues to rise.
We owe it to those who serve not to disregard what they have done for us. I’m not talking about a quick Insta story post or a Facebook message. I’m talking about real personal contact with someone who may be struggling with the horrors they witnessed protecting the US!!!
It doesn’t have to be significant or emotional. Still, if you see someone that has sacrificed time with their family, time with their loved ones, sometimes limbs, emotional stress, and even some whose brothers and sisters have paid the ultimate sacrifice let them know they are wanted. They are appreciated, loved, cared for, and that we do NOT take their sacrifices for granted. If our constitutional rights are genuinely priceless, then this is the least we can do.
