‘Days of Girlhood’ Becomes a TikTok Trend for Men Posing as Women

Dylan Mulvaney is best known for creating the social media series, “Days of Girlhood,” in which he documents his “transition” from male to female. Mulvaney, a biological man, was invited to speak at the Forbes Power Women’s Summit to address the female crowd and speak on his “journey.” He was also invited to the White House, to speak with President Biden regarding access to “gender affirming care” for all ages, even children. The fame and popularity he garnered so quickly was solely due to his over-the-top videos, in which he plays a dramatic caricature of a woman.

Grant Sikes, a male and similarly overnight TikTok phenomenon, decided to enlist in the sorority recruitment process at the University of Alabama back in August of this year. He was released from recruitment by every chapter, and was not selected to join a single sorority. At the time, Sikes did not identify as female but applied to sororities regardless of this fact. He did, however, display feminine characteristics, such as dressing in women’s clothing and doing his hair and makeup to appear less masculine.

He amassed a large, nation-wide following, with thousands of people watching his attempt at being the first male selected to join the historically female-only collegiate society, (a title that has now been handed to the first ever “trans-female” at the University of Wyoming, Artemis Langford).

Sikes blamed the numerous rejections on phobias and bias, he was clearly upset by the imminent end to his five-minutes of fame.

That is when the lightbulb must have turned on.

Sikes flipped on his camera and began to document his own transitioning journey. During the recruitment saga, he was under a microscope, and publicly stated that he was in fact a male and not transgender. Less than a month later he “came out” as non-binary (neither male nor female, or both simultaneously) and continued to create TikTok content wearing women’s dresses and makeup. Sikes even partnered with the designer Alice + Olivia during New York Fashion Week, and has gained multiple online sponsors.

The TikTok fanatic copied Mulvany’s blueprint for success by labeling his videos “Days of Girlhood” in which he divulges everything he is “learning” about “being a girl.” Most recently, Sikes filmed “Day 12 of Being a Girl” he went out to purchase tampons similarly to Dylan’s sponsored Tampax advertisement, when he posted “Day 75 of Being a Girl.”

What is most disturbing is the fame and fortune being given to men dressing up as women. They are mocking femininity, and creating a version of “womanhood” that doesn’t exist in reality. In return, society gives them praise for their “bravery,” in addition to millions of views online which only further pushes the narcissistic, materialistic and individualistic ideas that created this toxic culture to being with.

These men are not only severely mentally troubled, but they are using the guise of LGBTQ to gain social credit. The internet fans hiding behind avatars encourage this bad behavior, including the use of sterilizing drugs, hormones, even life-altering surgeries that leave individuals permanently physically deformed. Anyone who attempts to speak truth, and discourage medical and social transitioning is labeled “transphobic” — though they always come from a place of sincere compassion for the deep confusion and pain felt by those transitioning.
