Census Results Change Political Landscape
The latest census data is here. The US population grew to 331 million, a growth rate of 7.4% from the 2010 census. The more significant finding from the census data shows that blue states like New York, Pennsylvania and California are shrinking while red states like Texas and Florida are growing.
Anyone who excuses or dismisses this finding or thinks it is apolitical should really think again. You see, the growing red states will be seeing an increase in their political clout in the House of Representatives. They will be gaining seats. For example, Texas’s share of votes will increase to 38 for the next decade.
This means more power, more votes, more influence. The point is that this census is not just about counting our population, but it has a MASSIVE impact on the political landscape.
