University of Arizona Announces BLM #SayTheirNames Course

This INSANE report from The Professor Watchlist EXPOSES the University of Arizona’s WOKE English Department.

The University of Arizona allows students to take a Black Lives Matter (BLM)-inspired course to fulfill an English requirement for graduation.

The course is officially titled “ENGL 101A: #SayTheirNames, a Black Lives Matter Literacy.” Take a look at the overview of the course below:

Since when were hashtags a part of English discourse in higher learning? And since when did “literacy” mean social-justice race-baiting?

The phrase “Say Their Names” is frequently shouted at BLM protests to draw attention to black men and women allegedly murdered by police. This attention turns into intimidation, as BLM protestors even assaulted Senator Rand Paul in August of 2020 by a mob yelling “[Breonna Taylor] Say Her Name!”

Breonna Taylor, whose name is shouted in the video and depicted in U of A’s course announcement, was reportedly dealing narcotics with her boyfriend–Kenneth Walker—at the time of her death. Walker shot at police who were executing a search warrant on his apartment, resulting in Taylor’s death in the crossfire.

Students will “study” how American values are connected to “blackness” and “whiteness,” with probing questions advertised in the #SayTheirNames course announcement such as:

  • How does social media allow for critiques of race, gender, sexuality, and violence?
  • What does it mean to say their names-as an elegy, an anthem, and a language to give space for talking about Black Lives?

The required reading list for #SayTheirNames includes:

#SayTheirNames further promises to help students improve their writing skills by crafting a social narrative based on their social justice.

The Professor Watchlist reports that BLM embraces radically Left-wing policies and tactics, despite describing itself as an inclusive, civil-rights organization. Some of BLM’s beliefs include:

According to a study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country–notably in Summer 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, The Federalist found that “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the largest in American history, causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.
