TPUSA Staff at UT Dallas Attacked by Trans-Identifying Woman on Bike

A man riding a bike through the campus of UT Dallas vandalized TPUSA property and attacked several officers at a campus event in March, featuring special guest Alex Stein.

Paige Neumann, TPUSA UT Dallas Chapter President, was working at a table during the event where she was subject to injuries from the man’s repeated attempts to assault her and her fellow chapter officers.

Importantly, the man who attacked the TPUSA table and staff is a trans-identifying woman. His birth name is Liam Nguyen, though he now goes by “Alyssa” and dresses like a woman. Nguyen has a violent criminal history and has been arrested seven times, including two charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two criminal mischief charges, and one charge each of assaulting peace officer/judge, and an attempt to take a weapon from officer.

According to Neumann, this is not the first time in which this individual has acted violently toward TPUSA.

Upon riding by the table, TPUSA chapter officers, who knew Nguyen’s attitude toward the organization and intent to vandalize, told him to “keep moving.” He then took multiple swings at the staff and their personal property. According to Neumann:

“The biker then got off of the bike, grabbed the metal bike lock off of it, and swung at the leg of the canopy I was by. They then swung the lock at our whiteboard, causing a hole. They swung at our table, where Grace’s phone and my phone were. Grace’s phone was destroyed beyond use and mine is cracked severely in the front and back.”

Nguyen continued acting violently after this. He tried to swing at another chapter officer, prompting Neumann to defend that officer with a bike lock. He then swung at the bike lock, which hit the back of Neumann’s head, causing an injury and a temporary blackout:

“I’m not sure what happened after,” Neumann said. “The biker must’ve fell because I remember grabbing him/her by their backpack handle to get them away from us. The person tried to swing again and hit Shreyas in the arm. Finally, they swung a last time and hit a pole.”

After swinging at the pole, Nguyen left the scene. Neumann was later checked out by EMT’s. She will press charges against the vandal.

“I would have done anything to have Turning Point USA when I was your age, so it really is a true honor to be here today.”
