The Constitution is NOT a Vending Machine
The Constitution is not a vending machine: you don’t get to pick the Amendments you want like a snack. You take the whole vending machine, just as it us. That means you have to take the sour with the sweet, the savory with the syrupy. The Constitution must be taken as a whole and Amendments are not something you chose. You take them all . . . as is! Whether you like them or not!
Constitutional rights are conjunctive NOT disjunctive. One cannot say, I will take MY 1st Amendment right to free speech, but deprive you of YOUR 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.
