Sarah Silverman And Jenny Slate’s Recent Career Moves Highlight Hollywood Hypocrisy
Recently, un-funny actress Sarah Silverman, most famous for her crude humor, black face, and her obsession with marijuana, said that only Jews should play Jewish people on screen. There was also a “woke uproar” recently when American thespian Chris Pratt was chosen to play Super Mario because he is not Italian. Similarly, white actress Jenny Slate stepped down from voicing an ANIMATED character named Molly on a Netflix show called “Big Mouth” because the cartoon is supposed to be bi-racial. This is nothing new, Hollywood has long embraced hard-core liberalism and identity politics, but lately, Hollywood has completely forgotten what it means to ACT.
Acting is playing pretend. Acting is fantasy. Acting is escapism. Acting is a suspension of reality. Acting is NOT playing only roles that fit your exact life specifications. This is both silly and self-important. You see, Hollywood actors think that they are better than you. They think they can fool you. They think that if they appear to be morally superior, then you will see them as such.
The reality is that Hollywood actors make an obnoxious amount of money to do very little work. They are told that they are wonderful all day long. They are given free things by sycophants who simply want to be near them.
When the Hollywood folk pretend to care whether a cis-gender, red-headed, morbidly obese character is played by another cis-gender, red-headed, morbidly obese actor, they are doing just that: pretending. You see, these people don’t REALLY care. They just want you to think they care. That makes them better than you.
This is the only time they are allowed to actually act anymore, when feigning concern for anyone other than themselves.
