Salvation Army Goes Woke, Calls for White Christians to Apologize for Their Racism

Every Christmas, you hear the familiar bell ringing outside of your local grocery store. That sound is a call for donations from the Salvation Army. Since 1878, the Salvation Army has had a long history of helping those in need. Now, they’ve gone woke!

According to the Gateway Pundit, the Salvation Army is asking for more than just money this year. They are calling for white Christian donors to reflect on their racism and even apologize for being ‘racist.’ Unbelievable, but true. The Alexandria, VA, headquartered non-profit, now has a Social Justice Commission to educate white donors, volunteers, and employees!

They go on to say that their white donors have been “antagonistic… to black people or the culture, values, and interests of the black community” and need to offer a “sincere apology.”

This rhetoric is a terrifying departure from the Christian charitable organization’s mission dedicated to “doing the most good for our neighbors in need – from providing nutritious meals and warm beds, to offering drug and alcohol rehabilitation and making Christmas miracles possible.”

An organization that purports to have altruistic intentions is now in the business of pointing fingers, placing blame, and virtue signaling. They ask for favors while dishing out shame.

You’ve heard the expression “Get Woke, Go Broke.” It exists for a reason. The Salvation Army is pushing a social agenda when its mission is to help people. This is distasteful and will likely result in fewer, not more donations. Salvation Army should be asking itself, is their mission to assist those in need or to push a false social agenda? This is sad.

Update: The Salvation Army has withdrawn its controversial statement after a public uproar.

“Turning Point USA is the fastest-growing youth movement in America, and they have a potential to play a decisive role in shaping our country for decades to come.”

- Senator Ted Cruz
