Lately, the media has covered stories about Disney visitors who were asked to change their clothing for modesty reasons. Good! Disney announced that it does in fact have a dress code. I think Disney should go a step further and implement an even stricter, official dress code for all visitors.

Disney is not an adults-only spring break resort in Cancun. It is the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ for young children. Children deserve modesty. Perhaps that’s why schools and daycare centers have dress codes.

Disney should similarly announce specific guidelines for park visitors. These rules should be placed online with illustrations.

Whether they like it or not, adults are role models for children. Adults should set good examples for children, because children are in fact looking up to them.

We talk an awful lot about our rights. Perhaps it’s time we begin thinking about our duties.
