Turning Point USA is excited to announce that Yeonmi Park will be joining TPUSA’s growing roster of content creators as a Contributor. Yeonmi is a North Korean defector, human rights activist, and self-described “Enemy Of The Woke.”
Born in North Korea in 1993 and growing up during the North Korean Famine, Yeonmi experienced the dangers of communism. Yeonmi and her mother were forced to flee their country and went to China after her father was sent to a labor camp. In China, Yeonmi and her mother fell into the hands of human traffickers and were sold into slavery. They heroically escaped to Mongolia before resettling in South Korea, where Yeonmi started her work as an advocate for victims of human trafficking in China.

In 2014, Yeonmi relocated to New York City, and a year later in 2015, she finished her memoir, “In Order To Live: A North Korean Girl’s Journey to Freedom.” Yeonmi has written articles for the Washington Post, and has been a featured guest on the most widely listened-to podcast in the world, The Joe Rogan Experience. She has also appeared on Fox News, has given TED Talks, and more. Yeonmi has garnered over 1 million Youtube subscribers and 534k followers on Instagram as she has continued to boldly share her story.
