Those of us with larger platforms on the conservative side have been saying this for quite some time now, but the past ten days’ events should strike fear even in the heart of the left. Amazon, Facebook, and Apple have now proven that they can shut up even the most powerful world leaders. These companies have confirmed that even when conservatives “create our own” – as in the case of Parler – we can STILL be shut down because powerful companies decide to ban hosting and pressure other potential vendors to do the same. This is dangerous to a free and fair society, and it’s deeply, DEEPLY unAmerican.

The most disheartening thing about all this is that, for years now, the Right has been in a position to DO something about the growing and unchecked power of Big Tech and decided to do absolutely nothing. Tweets and speeches don’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things. They’re words used to appease those with serious concerns about Big Tech’s power while these companies send millions of dollars worth of lobbyists to do their bidding in The Swamp.
And for those on the left that are rejoicing in the de-platforming of figures they don’t like? They may be the most foolish of all. They don’t realize that everything happening to conservative figures right now can EASILY happen to them if they don’t toe the line that corporations and Big Tech have decided needs to be toed.

What’s happening in America right now is dangerous. It is totalitarian. It is fascist – and yet we see it happen right before our eyes. If we don’t come together as a movement and DEMAND that our leaders do SOMETHING about protecting free speech, we will certainly lose it for good.
