The internet has been buzzing non-stop for the past month as Tesla Founder & CEO Elon Musk acquired the social platform Twitter after months of back-and-forth financial negotiations. From the moment Musk walked into Twitter headquarters for the first time, it quickly became apparent that there were substantial changes coming to the company. Musk began firing several thousands of employees, including the top executives that have overseen the censorship and suspensions on the platform. He also announced a new Twitter Blue subscription for $8 that will allow anyone to be verified and receive a blue checkmark on their account.

Musk’s changes to the social media app have sparked an uproar, particularly among leftists that are threatened by his desire to scale back censorship rules. Among the number of angry and unsettled Twitter users was none other than The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg. Goldberg announced on the TV show that she is done using Twitter because she got used to “certain kinds of attitude blocked” on the app.

Goldberg’s complaints about the tech company changing its policy on so-called “hate speech” and misinformation are so hypocritical that it’s laughable. You may remember her comments last July about TPUSA’S Student Action Summit, claiming that we let neo-NAZI’s into our event and were “complicit.” After TPUSA sent a cease and desist request to ABC News, Goldberg backed down from her false claims.

For people like Goldberg, the thought of their political opposition having an equal voice is seen as a threat worthy of shutting down. But of course, the threats ring hollow. This is no different than when a bunch of celebrities threatened to leave the country when President Trump took office. Ultimately, they won’t be able to help themselves from using their platform and fame to do the thing they like to do most: complain.
