White House Approved Exporting 5 million Barrels of Oil to Europe, Asia
Well, the Biden Administration has hit a new low while supposedly trying to combat our country’s outrageous gas prices.
According to Reuters, the White House exported 5 million barrels of oil from its emergency reserves last month to countries in Europe and Asia.
And guess who’s one of the recipients of these oil exports? China.
Reuters reports:
“More than 5 million barrels of oil that were part of a historic U.S. emergency reserves release to lower domestic fuel prices were exported to Europe and Asia last month, according to data and sources, even as U.S. gasoline and diesel prices hit record highs.”
President Biden has been steadily emptying the Strategic Petroleum Reserve daily to combat high domestic gas prices, but this has done little to actually decrease the price at the pump. Now, 5 million barrels of that oil, which was originally intended to go towards domestic consumption, have been sent overseas.
We obviously have to point out the clear lunacy in this decision to export oil. Our country is close to an energy crisis. Still, the President blames everyone but himself for rising gas prices: Covid-19, Vladimir Putin, conservatives, etc. While there are multiple factors contributing to the high gas prices, President Biden has done nothing to solve the problem and has done everything to make it worse.
One of the biggest reasons the U.S. is suffering from high gas prices is because of our decreasing energy independence. Back in 2019, under President Trump, The United States was a net exporter of energy for the first time since 1952.
Just three years ago, the U.S. was independent enough to export oil because we had enough in supply to fulfill the needs of our country. But right now, President Biden is exporting oil during a shortage of supply. This REDUCES our energy independence. Not to mention the national security concerns that should be addressed for sending oil to China, one of our country’s most significant political adversaries.
With the government’s handling of our energy crisis being inept, don’t expect the price of gas to go down any time soon.
