What Does “Big Government” Mean?
I was asked this question by a newbie Cuteservative (what I call fans of my show “POPlitics“), and I thought my answer may be helpful for you if you’re also new in this space. If you are, welcome! You’ve now entered the world of freedom and PINK! Well…at least if I have something to do with it.
Big government is the tendency for the government to expand itself for the sake of more power, control, and money. It’s when the government gets so expansive that they have the ability to be involved in almost every aspect of your life. Your education, housing, healthcare, speech, religion etc. The trade for all this? The more the government is involved in your life, you will always have to sacrifice your freedoms.
Our founding fathers knew that keeping the government as small as possible was best for the American people. Thomas Jefferson said, “That government is best which governs least, because its people discipline themselves.”
Now you know why at Turning Point USA we say, “BIG GOV SUCKS!”
