Elevated Access, a non-profit organization based out of Illinois, has started a volunteer based program in which pilots will offer free flights to individuals seeking abortions or gender-affirming care, but live in states that outlaw either practice. The pilots often donate their time and aircraft no questions asked, keeping a layer on anonymity between the passengers, purpose of the flight, even keeping the pilots first and last name under wraps.
“We are a volunteer pilot network that flies people in private aircraft at no cost to access abortion and gender-affirming care. We believe in bodily autonomy and the freedom to make private health care decisions without government intervention.”

Volunteers rage from private pilots to military personnel, who claim that transporting women to another state to kill their unborn child is their “patriotic duty.” States such as Texas and Arizona have outlawed nearly all abortions, with some exceptions such as to save the life of the mother. Elevated Access criticized laws enforcing abortion bans at six-weeks gestation calling them “restrictive,” but failing to explain why six-weeks is such an important milestone. The fetal heartbeat can be detected as early as five weeks, but is most commonly present at six. Of course, many pro-life activists point out that any developmental point other than conception is arbitrary, as scientific understanding is constantly advancing.
Concerning “gender-affirming” care, there are currently just five states, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, and Arizona, which place any restrictions on medical treatments for gender dysphoric individuals. Each of these states only place limits on what treatments can be given to minors, and does not address adults who are seeking this “gender affirming” care.
Assuming that Elevated Access knows this, the organization is taking the stance that children need to be flown to states (with no mention of parental consent) to receive hormones that will cause irreversible damage to their development, puberty blockers that will stunt growth, mental development, and effectively sterilize them for life.
Even more disgusting, are the surgeries offered to minors around the country. Procedures include double-mastectomies, vaginoplasties, phalloplasties, and hysterectomies — all of which permanently butcher the patient, preventing them from living life normally without the constant need for medical intervention. Even WPATH, which sets standards for transgender care globally, has admitted that any surgery performed in attempt to create the organs of the opposite gender will require lifelong follow-up care. Given that there are no restrictions placed on adults seeking transgender treatments, Elevated Access is very likely transporting minors to receive medications and procedures.
This is in-line with leftist talking points recently, California even dubbed itself a “safe haven” for children seeking gender treatments — which have no scientific founding whatsoever. Even the NHS acknowledges this in their recently updated guidelines concerning gender-dysphoria.
“Additionally, the NHS states what many children’s rights activists have been claiming for months, ‘in most prepubertal children, gender incongruence does not persist into adolescence.’ According to their research, most children experiencing gender confusion in early life grow out of it.”

Organizations like this want to make a change, they want to help others, but are unfortunately so unbelievably misguided. Aborting a would-be child does not solve problems such as poverty or trauma, (regardless of what some leftists claim).
Women going through an unplanned pregnancy need support, they need to be encouraged, and told that it is possible for them to be a mother, and enjoy motherhood. Children feeling confused about their gender need to be comforted, and told that they will eventually feel comfortable in their own skin, that they are created perfectly and do not need to change their outwardly appearance.
Elevated Access unfortunately does not acknowledge that truth. This is why their organization, rather than helping those who are suffering, is facilitating situations that will not solve problems, but will simply cause more pain.
