University of Minnesota Under Fire for Implementing ‘Anti-Racist’ CRT Training in Public Health Department

The University of Minnesota has incorporated “anti-racist” critical race theory (CRT) training into its public health department, according to an eye-opening report by The Daily Wire.
The University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health is now offering an “Anti Racism 101” training, aiming to educate students on the concept of racism and defining it within the context of power structures as “a system of advantages based on race.”
The training reportedly features a video segment by Robin DiAngelo, the author of “White Fragility,” a prominent book pushed by CRT activists. The video attempts to inform students that “racism is the status quo” in “all white settler colonialist societies.”
The Anti-Racist presentation was given in a workshop on campus last month. The workshop initially began with a “land acknowledgment,” a growing trend on college campuses that pays homage to Native American tribes that formerly resided on the lands of which the campus is located.
Taking the training a step further, the university’s “Anti Racism 102” delves into various forms of bigotry, including sexism, “heterosexism,” “ableism,” “Islamophobia,” “transphobia,” and “fatphobia.” The presentation attempts to make the broader point that all white individuals inherently possess racist tendencies and must acknowledge their biases. Notably, one slide in the presentation declares racism to be a “public health emergency.”
In a statement to The Daily Wire, the university claimed that the training sessions are voluntary, and that “views and perspectives expressed in educational settings on campus are not necessarily those of the institution.” However, The Daily Wire has pointed out that the college has a history of pushing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives in its curriculum.
The argument that racism is a “public health emergency,” is nothing new. In 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a statement that claims racism is a “serious threat” to public health. The CDC currently has a “Racism and Health” page on its website that uses the radical left’s definition of racism, claiming that it is a “a system—consisting of structures, policies, practices, and norms—that assigns value and determines opportunity based on the way people look or the color of their skin.”
