University of Iowa Student Arrested after Attacking Benny Johnson’s Speaking Event
A student was arrested after disrupting a TPUSA chapter event at the University of Iowa by kicking a projector and yelling profanity at the audience.
UI invited TPUSA contributor Benny Johnson to speak at a small event on their campus. The event, titled “Meme Wars,” was a light-hearted speech focusing on how conservatives can win the culture war by posting effective memes that show the ridiculousness and hypocrisy of the left.
As Johnson was playing a meme in response to the left’s outrage of conservative governors sending illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, the presentation was disrupted by an unhinged student:
The perpetrator’s efforts were not long-lasting; the projector was quickly fixed after the incident occurred and Johnson was able to continue his presentation while the board filled out police reports. The student was detained by university police after leaving the event.
This isn’t the first time this perpetrator attacked TPUSA property. In August, this same student approached a TPUSA table on campus and started banging on it with his skateboard. The university police had to be called, and when they arrived told the students to leave because they were harassing the TPUSA chapter members.
“We often say The LEFT CAN’T MEME. Tonight we proved it. I was giving a peaceful speech to the University of Iowa Turning Point USA chapter about memes this evening. During our presentation we played a harmless meme of Kamala Harris welcoming a bus full of migrants, set to tasteful mariachi music. That is when a low-T leftist strung-out on pure soy snapped into a violent rage. I watched dispassionately as the libs last drop of testosterone evaporated in an unprovoked kick-attack on an innocent projector. That projector’s crime? Playing memes. Thankfully, no one was hurt by the domestic terrorist attack other than an innocent Panasonic Projector. RIP”
Benny Johnson’s Official Statement
The left’s intolerance of TPUSA events is nothing new. Last week, protestors turned violent at a TPUSA event featuring Tomi Lahren at the University of New Mexico. As a conservative organization, we’re used to intimidation and bigotry. However, we will not let this stop us from holding inclusive events that encourage the conservative values we believe in.
