United Airlines Pilot Suspending After Applauding Hamas Terrorists as ‘Brave People’
A United Airlines pilot has been suspended after a social media post surfaced where the individual referred to Hamas terrorists as “brave people” following the attacks on Israeli civilians on October 7.
In a now-viral post by the account Stop Antisemitism on X (formerly Twitter), United Airlines pilot Ibrahim R. Mossallam was seen applauding the efforts of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in a post on Facebook. Mossallam characterized the attacks that claimed over 1,200 lives as “resistance from brave people who have endured decades of occupation.”
In addition to defending the attacks, Mossallam accused the media of politicizing the Israel-Palestine conflict to present a “non-occupying narrative of Palestine” and urged people to “expand their media literacy.”
The revelations of Mossallam’s beliefs sparked widespread outrage on social media, with some users expressing concerns about the safety and comfort of Jewish passengers on flights operated by Mossallam. The Stop Antisemitism account that posted this revelation rightfully pointed out, “How can Jewish passengers feel safe with this man flying their plane?”
In response to the public backlash, United Airlines took swift action and announced Mossallam’s suspension from flying with the airline. A spokesperson for the airline stated, “This pilot has been removed from service, with pay, while we look into this matter.”
Mossallam is also the board vice president of the New York chapter of the Council on American-Israel Relations, according to the Daily Mail.
