A Monday memorial in Manchester, England, honoring Charlie Kirk was sabotaged by numerous protesters seeking to disrupt the event.
According to the Daily Wire, the University of Manchester Pro-Life Society arranged the memorial, which featured pro-life activist Lois Miller as guest speaker. Toward the middle of the event, police intervened to stop the protesters from trampling the group.
“When the mob was almost on top of us, the police stepped in,” the president of the society, Inge Botha, said. “They formed a barrier between us and the protesters after someone pushed over a portrait of Charlie Kirk.”
Botha also noted that the society had encountered social media posts that morning from left-wing organizations recommending their members to attend and protest the memorial.
Lois Miller posted on X that the protesters outnumbered those who were there to honor Charlie Kirk by 10-1, and sought to drown out her remarks.
“No matter who it is, you’d hope people could show some empathy,” Botha said of the protesters’ negative disposition toward the late founder of TPUSA.
A clear absence of empathy was shown through the appearance of one protester wearing a white “Freedom” t-shirt while painted red, mocking Kirk’s assassination. Others stole a poster depicting Kirk and ripped it and held it up as if they had beheaded him, according to Miller.
