TPUSA’s School Board Watchlist: Loudoun County, Virginia
Everyone is talking about Turning Point USA’s brand new School Board Watchlist and for good reason. We all knew that communist sympathizing radical Leftists have had a stranglehold on America’s education system. Still, there was no way of knowing just how awful it was until now.
Take the Loudoun County Public School system in Virginia as just one of the hundreds of Leftist examples that are out there. According to the School Board Watchlist findings, the parent community has been embroiled in a recall effort against six of the nine members governing the school board.
Why are they fighting so hard to recall the school board?
The parents of Loudoun County Public Schools are fighters. They love America, and they hate to see what radical Leftists are trying to pass as acceptable education. The parents are arguing that Critical Race Theory is used in the very professional development of the county’s teachers. The teachers are taught to see everything through race!
The School Board Watchlist hits it right on target with this finding: “Several parent groups in the district have worked tirelessly to share their concerns with the school board; attending board meetings for months now. They are facing backlash from radical parent groups and faculty for being ‘racist.’”
This is exactly right. Parents are fighting to do what’s right for their children, and radical Leftists who refuse to loosen their grip on power are slinging lies and accusations against the parents. I am so glad to see that the parents of Loudoun County are not intimidated by the slur Leftists have become so comfortable using: “racist.”
These parents are not racists. It isn’t racist to think that people should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. After all, I seem to recall that it was the great civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who said that.
Loudoun County Public Schools is going to be a county to watch. After reading the School Board Watchlist report, I did a little more research and discovered that the same school board was slated to vote on their “Rights of Transgender and Gender-Expansive Students policy.”
How “expansive” is your gender? I’m pretty sure that nobody on that board would be able to explain what that means, but it’s all a virtue signaling act that is flying right in the face of the good parents of Loudoun County.
I think the elected members of Loudoun County better consider the changing political landscape for themselves. As the School Board Watchlist puts more and more stories like this on blast, gone are the days when Leftist school boards like those of Loudoun County could simply bully the citizens they pledge to serve.
