TPUSA is proud to announce that its Frontlines team of journalists won a total of four Telly awards for the platform’s 2025 award season.

Frontlines won gold – and bronze twice – for the platform’s “General-Video Journalism” award, along with a silver award in “General-Social Impact.”

The General-Video Journalism award is described as a “Social media video presented by a journalist for the purpose of disseminating news or factual stories specifically made for social media or social platforms.” The report that won the team gold in this category was conducted by Frontlines reporter Jonathan Choe, titled “America’s Best Kept Secret: The Crisis at the Northern Border.”

Frontlines won bronze in General-Video Journalism again for a 2024 report done by Frontlines reporter Savanah Hernandez, titled “Queens’ Thriving Black Market for Illegal Immigrants.”

Making Frontlines’ third Telly award in the same category was a report titled “Chaos and Mayhem in Aurora,” conducted by Jonathan Choe.

Frontlines also won silver in the award category “General-Social Impact,” which is described as a “Social media video created to inform or influence the viewer about social issues.” The winning report was “Social Media is Making Chicago’s Gang Violence Issues Worse,” and reported on by Jonathan Choe

“This is a significant honor for the Frontlines team and our supporters,” said Jonathan Choe in response to Frontlines receiving the Telly awards. “Especially since we were up against so many media outlets around the world. Fair and accurate journalism is now needed more than ever. “

Savanah Hernandez said the awards are a testament to hard work and good journalism breaking through to audiences despite the presence of numerous outlets:

“Winning this Telly is an honor and testament to how much our team at Frontlines has been able to accomplish in such a short period of time. Despite competing with a multi-billion dollar media industry we’ve still been able to break through, reach millions and gain national recognition,” Hernandez said.

According to its website, “The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens.” The award platform “showcases the best work created within television and across video, for all screens. Receiving over 13,000 entries globally from 6 continents and all 50 states, Telly Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.”
