TPUSA Frontlines reporter Julio Rojas covered the operations of US Immigration, and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New Orleans, Louisiana, this past weekend, which coincided with city-wide protests.
ICE told Rojas, who accompanied officers on a ride-along, that the agency is “targeting the worst of the worst” including rapists, sex-offenders, violent criminal offenders, and drug dealers, among others within the region.
“It’s important for people to know we’re an apolitical organization,” the agent emphasized to Rojas. “We’re executing the will of the American people on behalf of the law.”
Opposition was expected, the officer told Rojas as they moved to locate a suspect that ICE had been surveilling for some time. At one point a woman followed them and recorded their activity.
Meanwhile, protesters held Mexican flags and signs depicting slogans like “Reject Trump’s Racist Takeover.” Journalist Nick Sortor was also accosted by protesters, who he had asked questions as to whether they believed ICE was racist or not.
US Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino recommended self deportation through the CBP home application, which DHSS Secretary Kristi Noem has promoted throughout her time in the role
“This is game time, Julio, we’re only getting stronger and better at what we do,” Bovino said. “Expect to see us in New Orleans until this mission is accomplished, and or many other cities and regions across the United States.” (See the Frontlines report below).
