Toxic Chemicals Found In ‘All-Natural’ Simply Tropical Juice, Lawsuit Alleges
The Simply Orange Juice Company, a national brand of assorted fruit juices, has been sued for allegedly deceiving customers by claiming on packaging that the juice was healthy and “all natural.” In reality, their “Simply Tropical” juice allegedly contains per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) — a group of about 12,000 harmful, man-made, synthetic chemicals, which are damaging to humans, animals, and the environment, even at low levels.
Many food manufacturers, like Simply Orange, intentionally mislead consumers in a marketing technique known as “greenwashing” which targets customers who tend to be more health or environmentally concisions by making false claims and empty promises about their products.
The class-action lawsuit claims that the level of PFAS found in the filter water used in the juices are “hundreds of times” higher the federal limit advised.
“The Product does not disclose the presence of PFAS—or any other synthetic chemical — in their ingredients. Rather, Defendants claim the only ingredients are filtered water, fruit juice and puree, cane sugar, and natural flavors.”

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found in 2022 that any exposure to PFAS in drinking water is toxic to humans.
“PFAS are a class of about 12,000 chemicals typically used to make thousands of consumer products resist water, stains and heat. They are called ‘forever chemicals’ because they do not naturally break down, and they are linked to cancer, fetal complications, liver disease, kidney disease, autoimmune disorders and other serious health issues.”

Tom Neltner, the chemicals policy director with the Environmental Defense Fund, predicts that similar lawsuits will continue crop up, specifically because the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is falling “further behind on what it is testing.” The FDA and its advisory board members have numerous financial incentives to withhold resting, and keep Americans in the dark regarding what may be adversely affecting their health.
Dangerous complacency in our population has resulted in incompetent politicians, unaware citizens, mindless and controllable youth, and overall, a crumbling republic. It has resulted in Americans consuming thousands of toxic chemicals on a daily basis without batting an eye.
There is an established network between corrupt politicians, who are bought out by large pharmaceutical and food manufacturers, and bureaucrats, working in unison for profit and power. These institutions partner up because there is money to be made in misleading Americans regarding what is healthy to eat, drink, or use daily (think: cleaning products, soaps, moisturizers, candles, disinfectants, makeup, etc.).
The extensive corruption in our government, food, and pharmaceutical, industries is creating a hostile environment for Americans to live in, and is not conducive to the overall health of a nation.
It is especially difficult to make a consensual decision to consume a product when you are being lied to about its ingredients — it is time to hold corporations, and the FDA, accountable for their lack of transparency.
