The US Once Again Extends COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement For Foreign Travelers

After 3 years of the world being exposed to COVID-19, herd-immunity and the vaccine becoming available, the CDC policy stopping foreign travelers who are not “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19 from entering the United States, has just been extended.

Originally issued on October 25, 2021, the policy was set to expire on Jan. 8. However, it will now be extended to April 10th, on behalf of a new emergency amendment from the TSA.

However, many are pointing out that the United States is one of the last few countries that are still implementing these restrictive mandates.

“The US is now one of only 29 countries (many islands and CHINA) that bars non-vaccinated people from entering,” political commentator Sydney Watson pointed out.

On top of that, COVID-19 has been a part of our daily lives for over 3 years now, lockdowns are over and the widely praised “safe and effective” COVID-19 vaccine and boosters have been on the market for almost 2 years.

But despite all of the evidence that we are no longer living through a pandemic and the FDA updating the Moderna and Pfizer fact sheet regarding “myocarditis and pericarditis” as a potential side effect of the COVID-19 vaccine, the current administration is still pushing policy that is discriminatory against the unvaccinated.

Unvaccinated citizens of the world have pointed to the lack of long-term research surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine regarding their skepticism around taking it. However, that hasn’t stopped our government from continuing to restrict the movement of those who push for bodily autonomy.

According to the original CDC order issued in 2021, “Noncitizens who are nonimmigrants and seeking to enter the United States by air are required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States from a foreign country”.

It is now 2023 and unvaccinated foreign travelers are still being subjected to mandates, while the Biden administration simultaneously allows thousands of illegals to cross our Southern border. Remember that during the fiscal year of 2022, we broke historic records as over 2.7 million crossed into the U.S. and the current government is fighting to end Title 42

“Turning Point USA’s commitment to the fight for freedom on campus is more important now than ever.”

- Senator Marco Rubio, Florida
