Prior to 2020, the largest single-year increase in the murder rate happened in 1968, with a 12.7% increase.

Get this–the rate is still rising in 2021, although at a slightly lower rate.

It’s almost as if efforts to defund the police, vilify local law enforcement officers, and allow violent crime to run rampant without consequences don’t work! This is no longer something we can take for granted politically–it’s time to demand our leaders step up to the plate and recognize the implications of their actions.
