The Lasting Impact Israel Will Have On My Life
It’s been a month since I have been back from Israel and I am still just replaying all of the different experiences over and over again in my head.
Israel changed my life for the better. It challenged, and ultimately strengthened me.
Before this trip, I realized that I knew very little about the nation that plays such an intricate role in the world. After this trip I gained a totally different perspective and a deep love for Israel. It was an eye opening experience for me to see all the ongoing conflicts that Israel has faced for thousands of years. From the Holocaust, to the current Temple Mount situation, these people, God’s people, have endured so much.
My faith grew tremendously on this trip. Being able to connect to these historical sites and see where Jesus walked, where He healed, where He walked on water, where He was baptized, and where the Bible truly came to life was a life changing experience for me. It’s a feeling that is hard to put into words but I pray every person has the opportunity to walk where our Savior walked one day.
I encourage everyone to dive deep and research Israel to find out why thee country is so impactful and why the people wants peace so desperately. These people love their country. They fight for their country, and they die for their country. Almost every person we met asked us to “pray for peace” because they desire the constant conflict in their region of the globe to end.
On our trip we were fortunate enough to have the most amazing tour guide, David, who took us through the history of the country and had a unique way of connecting us to each location. He is also a Christian, so hearing the story from his perspective was so impactful.
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience in the Holy Land. Thank you Turning Point for the trip of a lifetime and for giving me a cultural experience that will forever impact my life.
