The left has always had it easy; they use greeting card rhetoric that sounds nice to everyone, regardless of your political background:
“Medicare for all!”
“No person is illegal”
“Cancel student debt!”
These are all things we’ve heard again and again from the left and the problem of conservatives has always been explaining, effectively, that no, the government can’t just give things away for free.
For the longest time, conservatives have seemed like the lame parent who never lets their kid do anything, while the left is the cool older cousin.
But this dynamic is changing and maybe already has.
Now, rather than having to make good arguments (which I do still believe is very important), for most cases the right can just let people watch the left unravel. The left has gotten so out of control that I believe the majority of Americans, politically active and engaged or not, are going to be naturally drawn to more conservative values and polices.
Turning Point USA’s Professor Watchlist and the School Board Watchlist are perfect examples of this. They simply expose what the hyper-left is already saying to students every day in public schools and universities across America.
My point is this: the best strategy for conservatives moving forward is simply to point at the left’s insanity and say “hey, join us because we aren’t THAT.”
