School is already about to start! HOW?!
Summer has absolutely flown by and the upcoming school year is creeping up on students across the country. You may ask why that matters to me since I’m no longer in school or have kids. Well, every year I facilitate a big school supplies fundraiser that I call “Supplies 4 Success!”
This will be the fifth year that I have run this fundraiser where I raise money to buy underprivileged students the school supplies they need to have a better education.
I “adopt” kids from local organizations such as the Women’s Crisis Center, Children’s Advocacy Center, and Heart 4 Kids and buy supplies according to the school list that child will attend.
Over the last four years we have been able to provide OVER 350 filled backpacks to help set up today’s youth for success in the classroom!
Along with backpacks, I also try to help as many teachers as possible by buying items off of their Amazon wishlists!
This fundraiser started from my love of learning and desire to help kids in need. Growing up, I LOVED shopping for school supplies and picking out all the fun folders and pencils in preparation for the new school year! I was very fortunate to have parents who instilled in me how vital education is and now I want to pass that on to the next generation.
